Maria Ressa

A trifold social cause about Maria Ressa, a Filipina journalist accused of writing a story that wasn't written by her. From this, she has faced and continues to be facing charges against her for her writing. Not only is Maria Ressa facing challenges in reporting, other journalists are having this struggle as well. Ressa's mission is to report and expose the Philippines government for restricting freedom of speech and media. To communicate the restriction of speech and media, I designed visual cues through the mark outs, texture rips of paper, and the "X" to translate the immediacy that impacts journalists in the Philippines and around the world.
